This week I present you with my version of the designer cocktail: The Doclé & Banana.
Ingredients:
1 oz banana liqueur
1 oz cake vodka
1 oz Kahlua
2 oz milk
two cubes caramel melted in the microwave
sweetened cocoa powder
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients but the last two and shake 'em like you mean it, Dahlink.
Pour into a beautiful glass (mine is gold rimmed; a nod to Oscar) over ice. Sprinkle a bit of cocoa powder on top and then, with a spoon, drip the caramel on top. Not too much, because if it's too heavy, it'll sink like the Titanic and Leo won't be there to save you, Honey. Just a little to accentuate the "look". When it hits the ice, it'll harden like the hearts of anyone who didn't cry at Les Mis. (You know you cried.) And you'll have a little something fun at the end. Like a good movie ending.

As soon as I saw "cake vodka", I knew this would be something I must try!! Sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteO.K. - Sooooooo, I just realized that I want to be your friend. I want to be that friend that comes over on weekends, plops on your couch, grabs one of your magazines to skim through, all the while you buzz into the kitchen to make me one of your famous drinks. We then curl up on either ends of the couch, drinking and laughing about our day.(or ragging on our kids/husbands/jobs/life. Depends on the mood)
ReplyDeleteI just imagine you in the kitchen with swizzle sticks, shakers, ice buckets.....the list goes on.
YES! I so want to be your friend. I used to have a friend who loved my quesadillas and guacamole, and she would come over in the afternoons, plop on my couch and say "pleeeaaaassseee make me one of your yummy quesadillas?"
So I am completely taking a memory from my past and using it in my new future thought of having one of your yummy sounding drinks. :) Dolce & Banana???YUMMMM
CHEERS!
