Cocktail Saturday: Kicking The Winter Blues - The Blue Cowboy

photo: elleroy

It's cold and snowy and although it's almost February, winter is far from over.   Those winter blues are holding fast.  I found this cocktail recipe and thought "what a perfect thing for kicking the winter blues with my shit stomping cowboy boots.

I did scale down the gin by half an ounce and added the lemon/ lime soda because I found the drink a little strong.  If you're feeling especially robust, feel free to go for the whole shebang.  I'll tell you one thing;  I'm already feeling pretty warm and fuzzy and there is not a blanket in sight.  I'm happy.  Hell, even the drink itself is smiling.  Or maybe that's just the alcohol talking.  Or the meds...

So, put your cowboy boots on and together, let's kick the winter blues!

Blue Cowboy

1/2 oz Blue Curaçao
1 oz Gin
2 oz lemon/lime soda
Combine in a shaker filled with ice
Pour into a cocktail glass filled with ice

Yes, I get the irony of all that ice on a winter's day.
Just go with it.

    2. Ha! The problem is that I'm no cowgirl. I'm definitely going to get something over the top, though, or why bother?
