So the bag is packed, the boots are shined. I'm off to New York to spend the weekend in Blog Land. The Hubby did his Tim Gunn thing and advised me on my wardrobe choices, complete with a request to "cinch" something at the waist. I kid you not. It didn't quite have the desired effect and that particular piece did not make the cut. I feel reasonably sure though, since he never steers me wrong, that I will avoid looking like a complete dufus.
I'm a mix of excited/nervous. Mostly excited and anxious to dispel the uncertainty that awaits me. After all, it's not complete uncertainty since I've been to music conferences in the past.
And I'm taking y'all with me. I'm armed with a camera - I'm going to try to inconspicuously get photos and video...oh, who am I kidding? If there was ever going to be a room full of people photographing, videoing, tweeting, face booking and generally documenting every moment out the wazoo, it would be the one I'm headed to. This sounds good to me, as its an opportunity to do all those things and actually feel like I'm not neglecting anything or anyone else. So I will document with abandon. And I'll report my findings.
Okay boots...start walkin'!
Oh WOW love those boots! Stay safe and Have a great time! Can't wait to hear all about it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gossip Girl! I had a great time and I've got stories...man, have I got stories. Stay tuned... ;)

ReplyDeleteI wished I'd had more time to blog from the conference like some people did, but it was intense and I didn't want to miss a thing. So I've got lots coming up. It was a veritable cornucopia of blogging fodder!

Waiting for your report, fearless leader.
Such a catchy tune! I have lots of reporting to do, so stay tuned, Tina. Actually, it was only scary til I got there and then it was like - I've found my tribe!! I wore the boots and someonrpe commented later that she noticed me all day because of the red boots. Mission accomplished. And you would have loved how many women there were rocking the cowboy boots! A LOT!! Solidarity! Chickened out on the uke, but found someone in the expo hall playing guitar and thought "shoot!". Next year!
DeleteHave fun! Remember I'm taking the over on you kicking Martha's ass in arm wrestling...don't let me down!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I said Martha and not Katie Couric. Katie's got some serious muscle-age.
DeleteOh, man - can we have a photo of you wearing those boots?! They are some kinda awesome!! I look forward to reading (and experiencing vicariously) your exciting week-end. You, go, girl. Yee-haw!
ReplyDeleteDang it! I didn't get photos of the boots. It was all a blur! But I can get a picture now and we can pretend Im still at BlogHer. Thanks so much for the support! I've got lots to tell, so stay tuned.
DeleteHave fun in NYC, it is the greatest city in the world!
ReplyDeleteThanks Roe! It is indeed. I lived there in my 20s and it is my happy place!
DeleteDid you get pics??? VIdeo?? I want to see!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd have had the presence of mind to get out the camera. I did think to myself - as I always do in effed up situations, "I will blog about this!". But you know, even if the Port Authority couldn't get me out, I could've tweeted out to my new fabulous BlogHer community to come get my ass out!
